Max hp with a p600b
Max hp with a p600b
I have a Lt1 with pacesetter lt, ory, cutout, drag radials, wallboro 255 fuel pump and is looking at getting a p600b. I have a m6 trans and have 3.73 and was wondering if 400 rwhp is possible on a stock motor with boltons. And will 550 rwhp be possible when i want to do a build and put heads, cam and lower compression. What is max boost on a stock motor that has a intercooler. I want to be able to run high 11's on a stock motor and reach the 400 goal. I think i am making close to 300 if not a little more so the boost should make atleast 100 hp.
400RWHP will be no problem, and back in the day ATI listed there p600B and p1SC to put the LT1 in the 11's with very few mods (mainly tires).
I THINK ATI list the P600B as a 625hp blower, I think its around 1,000cfm.
I don't know if 550RWHP would be achievable, but if not it would be close. A P1SC would did it no problem at all.

Wow I was way off then, lol. Depending on your Crank pulley, Blower pulley and the RPM you plan to spin it will dictate how hard the blower is working.
Tell me your pulley setup and the rpm you shift at and I will be glad to help

Very true.....
I have my own "back in the day" story.
A few years ago when I had the "Tomato" (red 94 Z/28), it had a stock motor (new valve springs, otherwise stock internally), with long tubes (FLP 1 3/4) and Flowmaster exhaust and a tune by Shalin Patel and it made 405 RWHP on 8# of boost. The car was an A4 and ran a best of 11.8 @ 117 on drag radials.
The combo lasted a year and a half before I spun the second, third and fourth main bearings on the crank.
After that I rebuilt it as a 383, and I ported the heads (mistake, should have gotten with AFR's for a thicker deck) and got a D-1, on 19# of boost it made 574 on 24* (Pump gas), then I upped it to race gas and it made 600 on 26*, 630 on 28* and 654 on 30*. The best I got the car to run was 10.02 @ 136.68 in 630 trim, every time I tried to go over 28* I popped head gaskets.
Boost is addictive, be careful of what you wish for and good luck

So what is the max boost from this blower and max rpm.
If you have something in mind, we might be able to help out.
Lets say a 12 lb pulley through a intercooler maybe i might get 9-10 actual #s. I have a stock motors with Long tubes, and exhaust. I want to spin the stock motor to 6000 and when i do a built 355 i want spin it to 6500-6700 and run a 15 or more # pulley. Thanks for the help guys i am a newby to forced induction.
My set up with 8# pulleys gives me 8 psi at 6k. I really wouldn't put any more than that on it. start saving for, ring and pinion, axles, clutch, tranny, tires. Its all worth it but they will fail eventually.
