manuel boost controller?

? for ya. If you want to run 6lb of boost on the street and 10lb of boost at the track what size spring do you run in the waste gate?If you have a manuel boost controller can you turn it down to 6 for the street and then just turn it up for the track with a 10lb spring in the wastegate?Confused how the 2 work together?

You can run a 10# spring and use one of those controlled leak manual boost controllers, or u can run a 6# spring and figure out a way to put 4psi of boost to the wastegate's top port.

So i can leave a 10# spring in the wastegate and control the boost with a mechanical boost controller from 6-10?I'm new to turbo's so excuse my ignorance but at 6#'s of boost how does the 10#spring open up on the wastegate?Does the controller leak out the 6#'s?I have a tial wastegate and a turbonetics manual boost controller. How should i set it up because I'm getting ready to put the turbo on and then take it to the chassis dyno before the track?

I think I've got it backwards on the 10# spring.

You can use a 6# spring and a manual controller which bleeds a controlled amount of air. So when your turbo is making 10# of boost, 4# is leaking out of the manual controller and 6# is getting to the wastegate, so as far as it knows it's only making 6psi.

For the other method, you run boost into a regulator and dump 4psi into the top port of the wastegate, this adds to the 6# spring essentially making a 10# spring.

The minimum boost you want to run is the spring that goes in the gate. The controller is used to raise the boost over the spring psi.
