MAF post blower pics please...

Anyone have pics of their MAF installed after your supercharger? Would like to move mine from before the charger to after and would like to know how you guys did it. Thanks.

Re: MAF post blower pics please...

Thanks for the reply 1LE. Anybody out there have a Vortech setup with a pic cause thats my set up. Seems like it would be pretty tight tryint to squeeze the MAF between the elbow and blower outlet tube, even with trimming. Thanks.

hey thumper, what the best way to remove/install the motor? is it easier to do the heads while in the car? easier to install the motor without the heads on?

Take your pick. I've done it both ways I've put it in the car with just the short block then put the heads on it and I've put a long block in it and then put the top of the motor on it. What ever floats your boat.

Pulled it out of the top. Once with the hood on it....the rest I pulled the hood off to do it.

Re: MAF post blower pics please...

Thanks for the pics guys. But I was really hoping for non-aftercooler pics cause thats my set up. The bad part with my setup is without the aftercooler, you have an immediate bend on the tube going (or coming up from) the charger output, so there isn't a whole lot of room to stick a MAF in there. I think I would even have to trim the TB elbow and the plastic tube coming up from the charger just to get it to fit. Was wondering if anyone out there has done that or had a better idea. Thanks for the input though.

Ok..think of it this way...put the blower on the car, then put the elbow on that you want to use...and place the MAF where you want it. connect. If you need to get some paper tubes or foam tubes and do some layout work...after that its just a matter of making it out of piping. No big deal.

hey TIM, good looking engine compartment. couple questions for ya.

1. where did you get the piping to rought your aftercooler piping like that? looks like it fits much better than the way vortech jerry rigged it. i think the aftercooler set up was also an afterthought. it just doesnt fit well....did you have someone custom mandrel bend it for you.....again, it looks sweet.

2. i see you went with the codebuster 103. i bought the procharger maf signal massager. it fixed my problem. i just ask because you are the only other person on the site ive found that has used something like this. everyone else has tried to tune around maxing the maf. there is a thread about it right now actually.....

thanks, jeremy

Re: MAF post blower pics please...

Jeremy,
I just bought a 3" U-bend and cut and fit until it looked good then mig welded
it together. Running the tubes the way Vortech had them setup made it about impossible to fit everything so I just reversed the connections at the intercooler and then was able to fit everything up with the MAF near the original location.

Re: MAF post blower pics please...

I chopped a 1/2 inch off both maf ends and about 1/2 from the vortech elbow and 1/2 inch from the discharge tube to fit my maf, it looks very stock despite the cutting you cant see under the silicone. Since I put the aftercooler on I have it on the suction side but you guys gave me some ideas on putting it back in the right place.
