LT1 Vortech oil drain question

I picked up a C4 Vortech kit for an LT1 with a reverse rotation blower on the passenger side and the instructions say to run the drain to the driver's side and put the pan fitting there. It would be much easier in my installation to drop it straight down and tap into the passenger side of the pan providing a much shorter and steeper angle for the drain hose. Is there anything wrong with putting the fitting on the passenger side of the pan as long as none of the rotating bits hit it? Windage issues, etc? I would probably place it in line with one of the main caps.

Re: LT1 Vortech oil drain question

Should be fine as long as it's above the oil level.
