LT1 P1SC boost limit?

i just scooped up a 97 SS with a 355 fully forged (GM forged crank eagle rods, wiesco pistons) 8:1 compression and a P1SC at 12psi, whats the max i can take it too and with the 8:1 can i put lets say a 100-150 shot through it and still be safe?

What kind of fuel system does the car have? I would consider all the necessary nitrous saftey items if you're thinging of spraying the motor with boost.

If youve got enough fuel injector and supporting mods, they are usually good for 15psi.

Use race gas when spraying with boost.

Dude, running FI and Nitrous is ASKING for a blown motor. It's normally pretty difficult to keep one of these things alive when running one or the other. There are too many things that can go wrong. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that the risk level goes up an order of magnitude. Do one thing, and do it well. If you want more power, then bump up the boost a couple psi.

Why do you want to use n2o? I would pulley it down, play with the tune.

agreed. these motors make everything you want with one power adder. By nature they are high compression motors and like to be that way, you can modify anything but theyre really not made for high boost/spray applications.

im not running a stock pistoned motor thogh, the motor is fully forged with splayed caps and is 8:1 our motors by nature are high copmpression because of the piston design and the head design, you change that geometry and you have a low compression motor by nature

97,

Not familiar with ProChargers, but 12psi w/ a P1SC on a built mild/built motor kinda sounds like the blower is close to max. Have you calculated impeller speed to see if you could spin it harder?

i cant realy get it to turn any faster, its about maxed out. thats why i was considering nitrous, i already have the kit, the rpm switch, and all the safety gear.

Have you considered selling the P1-SC and looking at a D1-SC or possibly an F1-A? I realize it's more money but in the long run, you may be happier going this route.

yep, looking to get a F1a but untill i upgrade i can add a 100 shot and not worry about adding it into the tune.

Assuming you have the 7.65" crank pulley, what size blower pulley does the unit have and what is the max RPM you are turing the engine too?
