Give it new springs and rockers. The boost puts pressure on the backside of the intake valves so you need a little more spring than it would have needed NA and springs are a good mod for an NA LT1.

Interesting project, keep us posted.

Yesterday I went to Englishtown for the last day of the race season. The car is now running 7psi and 18.5 degrees of timing.
Best run of the day was
1.72 60’
12.23 ET
106.5 mph
Best 60’ was 1.69
Over the winter I am defiantly going to throw some springs and rockers in it.

I wonder how I can the car to leave the line harder. Currently it has a TCI SSF converter (I know it’s not the best) and I foot brake it to about 2,500 rpm and leave. I imagine a higher quality stall would result in better short times. Flashing the converter does not work as well for this setup. I have heard that a 2 step would let me leave in boost. Are all those backfires because of the raw fuel in the exhaust igniting? Would all that popping and farting hurt the stock hypereutectic pistons?
So what other options are there?

transbrake

A higher and looser stall will allow you to leave in boost as well

Maybe I’m confused here but boost is related to load not engine rpm. With a higher stall the rpms would come up but I think the car would push through the brakes before I got enough load to produce any amount of boost. I am reading up on two stage rev limiters etc… I think this might be something to look into. Can anyone recommend a good 2 step?

because you are adding more of a load to the engine because you are further in the gas pedal and suspension is loaded = engine is loaded...

NA, less stall, less gear my car leaves harder than that. The converter is a good suspect. Give it springs, a good stall and more tuning and I think it will come alive.
