loosing boost

alittle new to the supercharger thing so i wasnted to ask the experts. i got my car back and it was seeing i think 14#'s when it was about 55-60outside. then last week when it was around 70 i only saw 12#'s. now that it is 85 out i just saw 10#'s. please say that is normal. if it makes a diff i have the ATI D1-sc with 8-rib pulley. and the pulley and belt are new less than 800miles on them with no sign of slipping.

thanks

Randy,
This is quite typical of a supercharger as cold air is more dense & therefore easier for the charger to "pump" it. Your case may be extreme, but it is routine to see at least 1# every 20 or so degrees.

An 8rib setup at this boost level is also marginal. This in itself may also contribute to the slippage as underhood heat (that also somewhat rises with air temp) can allow the belt traction to change. Keep an eye on your belt tension hot vs. cold to see if there is a difference as well.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply. i also thought about the belt. i have checked it several times throughout the weeks and have noticed no wear, rubbing or signs of dust from the belt. i still have to check the hoses and clamps, hopefully i will find one that is loose and leaking.
