What do you mean "supports"?

In all of the setups I have seen the turbo is supported by the manifold/headers.

when i get mine installed which i had to pre fab they go to the chassis or frame on my b-body and it went with a bolt off the turbo exh. flange to the chassis with a piece of heavy mud flap rubber its hard to explain it, its like a piece of conveyor belt rubber real thick about 2" thick so that it can have some give.will post pics.

but for another type of system i would just find a moutning point on the block where you can screw in a bolt with a metal bracket going to what looks like the weakest point on that side its pretty simple i accomplished this belive it or not using the stock support brackets which come on the b-body lt1's which goto the back of the alt to the manifold and to block.

what do people use when the turbo isn't right at the exhaust manifolds/headers? Like in a rear mount application.

Rear mounts will either use good hangers on the exhaust or just build a bracket for the turbo.

I am not using one on my front mount, its pretty close the the drivers side log and our little t70 is about half the weight of some of the other turbos.
