Lets help me pick a cam!

Mods in sig.. goin in this week. im camless though.. Im selling the 224/236 cam because I feel its to small for the 383.. Im looking at this cam right now: CC-TS-233XR Comp Cams TS233XR Camshaft 233/242 duration @ .050", .569"/.576" lift with 1.6 rockers, 114lsa. Amazing top end pull, extremely lopey idle in stock displacement engine. Nitrous use 200 shot, supercharger 8-16psi .. I want it to lope by the way.. I know it means nothing, but it has to lope dammit!

Thanks!
Nick

Nick,
Not too sure about the T-trim 383 combo, but i would call both Comp and Crane tech line and see what they would recommend. They helped make my final decision.

Re: Lets help me pick a cam!

if your looking for a huge lope... you might want to look for less sep angle... but then you start bleeding off power because of boost... thats just my opinion... im running a 106 sep in my big block.. it has lotsa lope!! i love it!

I spoke with Joe Overton Over this week and hes griding me a custom cam.
I told him i had a gm847 cam in my car curently and i'm pretty dissapointed with the sound this thing sounds like a hot cam in a stock buttom end car not lopy at all. I also asked him about Lobes if i had to have 114lsa he said no....prostreet cars run big Blowers and they are at 104lsa usually. He said he's leaning towards a 248/254 Duration i think thats what he said...and about 590ish lift with 110-111 lsa his sugestion was is "dont even think about tunning your car with lt1edit with this cam in it" As soon as i get the specs i'll let you guys know

Re: Lets help me pick a cam!

What springs, studs and rockers are you gonna use?
im planing to buy a set of TFS heads this winter, but i havent decied wich cam yet, have tought about 224/236 highlift verision with 1.5" rockers, but after reading that the high lift verision is hard on the valve train i dont know if the supplayed springs and 3/8 studs are good enough ....

Re: Lets help me pick a cam!

Im using the comp pro mag NSA 1.6 rockers and what ever springs come with the TFS heads.. they said they are good to .600 lift.. Studs are from combination motor sports, they are just plain hardened studs.. 3/8s too by the way..
