a stock car will pump 230rwhp w/o mods.. .you aretelling me you are getting 150rwhp up with just 6psi boost?
Headers add a good bit.. and they help a lot more on boosted applications... but oh well.. experiences here may not count.

I never dyno'd the car before I put the blower on so I don't have any before and after numbers but I do have some before and after track numbers.
Before the blower the best the car ran ws 13.67 @ 100.5, first pass after putting the blower on (w/ 7#'s boost) it ran 12.43 @ 110.93

Re: Just got a quote for a vortech install...
My friends Z had nothing more than JB 1 5/8 headers and 8 psi made 365 HP.I don't know what it was befor the supercharger. My car with LT4 heads and HOT cam. 1 3/4 headers, 52mm TB and 3in exhaust made 315HP. I added 9 psi of intercooled boost to get 426HP. Both cars are autos.

For you guys who installed it on a relatively stock engine, whats the torque curve look like? how much peak torque does it gain, and where does it peak approx?
Re: Just got a quote for a vortech install...
I still say it's harder then people our making it sound to gain that kind of power . I have a 383, afr heads. vortech t-trim custom aftercooler ect... but, during my initial tune I made 346 rwhp on 8.35psi . i had shorty headers (crap) and 1.6rr .Also when I started this little project I thought i'd be happy with 6-8psi, but now 2years and about 20 grand later i amk running 14psi and have still aways to go . Just be prepared if you do choose to go this route to spend the money .

I guess it all depends what condition the car is in. If he is pulling 250rwhp where he sits right now, then he may see ~340-350rwhp. However (seeing as most M6 cars dyno 250-260rwhp stock) I should hope he would be near 290rwhp before strapping the blower on. I think low numbers have to do with tuning as well. I raced a local guy back when I had bolt-ons. He had LT4 heads/hotcam and #8 blower. We raced from a 60-100 roll and I put a couple cars on him. He knew it wasnt running right. He dynoed it and it made 28#?rwhp. He got it dyno tuned and finished over 400rwhp (I believe it was 440rwhp).

Thanks for all the heads up so far. I know its gonna cost some $$..but that is fine. Once I get the Vortech installed, I am gonna keep fiddling with my car until I am happy. and who knows what consequences that will mean down the road.

Nice, your car sounds mean as hell in those vids. love the SC whine. based on your sig, its probably substantionally meaner now
Re: Just got a quote for a vortech install...
CHECK THIS THREAD......
if you dont care about cost, have someone one good do it for you. it was a huge pain to put the kit on!!!!! changing the cam and rocker arms was easier!!!
the only thing i like about putting it on myself is that i know it is done right and im familiar with it incase something is wrong.

I'll have to get a dyno video of my new setup.
The old P600B was a lounder blower as compared to my D-1, go figure

Re: Just got a quote for a vortech install...
That price sounds okay.
I would seriously think about adding an aftercooler in there also if you want to make outrageous power.
I replaced my procharger P600B setup with the vortech V2 earlier this year. Man, the vortech has been really impressive. It seems more responsive and makes more torque than the procharger did. Also, the aftercooler seems to work much better than the intercooler (twins), especially when it is hot outside (it's hot all the time out here in Socal). All this with only an 8 rib belt. The ati uses a 12 rib. I always had issues with the ati belt setup. I've had no issues at all with the vortech, everything is aligned perfectly.
I haven't dynoed the vortech yet, but it feels stronger than the ati, and the ati dynoed 525 rwhp.

Re: Just got a quote for a vortech install...
I did that with the procharger. With the more restrictive exhaust (edelbrock shorties and single cat, stock mid pipe) it made 480 rwhp. My compression is 9:1. The boost was 10-11 pounds.
