Install New Throttle Body

I installed a New 52mm Throttle Body Yesterday and when i come to a stop after riding i notice that the rpms be up a little everytime and i give it a little throttle and it goes back to normal idle speed. When i get to the house and pull the hood with the car at idle, i can place my hand on the throttle body and push the throttle linkage back a 1/8 of a inch and the idle is normal. I noticed that on the stock unit that when u open it and let go it snaps back with force. The aftermarket one is not as resistant as the stock one. Is there a fix to this problem.

It's an Edelbrock!

Thank for the help in advance u guy's have been great with anwersing my problems in the past.

Noticed any increase!

Not really pretty much the same as the holley! I did the supercharger, Throttlebody and switched PMC at the sametime.

Why did you get rid of the holley?

Yeah, the Holley's are billit aluminum. The Edelbrock's are cast aluminum. Also, check between the throttle blades on the edelbrock, it might be cracked.

The aftermarket throttle bodies generally do stick. Do a search in LT-1 tech and you'll find tons of people with the same problem. They just can't do a good job and mass manufacture them.
Our 52mm ported ones dont' stick, but I guess thats cause we hand lap each blade to each bore. Kind of overkill, but people don't have to worry about 1500 rpm idle :P

Aside from needing to turn the idle adjust screw once, I've never had a problem with my Holley 58mm. Guess I got lucky.

may need to adjust the TPS, that can hold it open and make it seem like it's sticking.

I had this exact problem with a bored out stock TB(52mm). The IAT under the TB was acting up. When I took the two (stock and the 52mm) off to inspect any differences, I noticed there is a hole between the throttle blades on the lower half that is a channel for the IAT (plunger valve controls air at idle when blades are closed)-THAT hole was smaller on the 52mm, so I drilled mine to the exact same size as my stock one and it idles PERFECT now. I was pulling my hair out b/c like you guys say, you can push it back down but it sticks the next time you rev it. Just what worked for me, check it out.
