injectors with FMU

I am wondering if stock 22lb injectors will be o.k. while using a Vortech FMU with 8:1 ratio calibration on a 92 Z28 TPI ( Paxton supercharger @ 6lbs boost ) ? Thanks for any advice.

You should be good but you should get it on a dyno to double check.

Theres plenty of dynos here in Charlotte.. i don't know how far you are from any of them

Thanks ROOSTER93V8, I have had alot of people tell me to dyno it. I think the closest place to me that can do this is a place called Turbo Tune in Greensboro, about a three hour drive from me. My stock fuel pump just bit the dust, so maybe after I install the new one ( Walbro 255LPH In-tank ) I will look into a good dyno tune. Thanks again for the reply.

Have you ever had any dealings with them? I have e-mailed them several times and have never had any replies. Do they specialize in rice burners?

I realize you can GET AWAY with running an FMU and smaller injectors, however, time/experience has show/told me that is not the way to go. Why not go to larger injectors besides $$$$???

considering hes got a speed density car its the only choice unless he wants to run a cyclone computer.

Theres nothign wrong with a FMU, its a fuel pressure regulator

Understood but in my eyes, it's a bandaid for a bigger problem. But you're right, it's a fancy fpr.

FMU's are ok. They are not great, but do save you the hassle of getting a custom tune... Most of the time it will take several tunes to get it right.. An FMU can keep you away from the headaches of that if running manual retard. Running 100+ pressures is kind of a risk also.. You need to make sure the fuel pump can handle higher pressures if running an FMU and smaller injectors.

Most cars i've delt with don't hit 100psi.. I'd like for some of you FMU guys to actually put a feul pressure gauge on the car before making that assumption with calculations.

Assumption??? ..You are the only one assuming here, and you know what that makes you. Mine ran over 100 psi. Never said they all would.. What I meant it is possible to see that kind of pressures. Defend the FMU all you want. It is far from consistant and accurate all of the time.. Most people who spend a ton of money on their setup will actually want to pay a little extra to take that junk off their car for piece of mind.. Nothing wrong with that.

Like I said before, FMU's are just ok, nothing special..

What up Timmay! I got your number you freak. I will call you this week
