Injection Fluid - Pre Compressor?

I can think of some ways why I think you shouldn't do this - but what are the advantages to spraying either water, alcohol or a mixture into the compressor inlet as opposed to discharge?

Increased impeller erosion
Increased load on impeller possible exceeding design limitations?
Slower spool (mass of liquid added)
Slower peak impeller speed (turbo)
Increased transmission & belt load (blower)

I know some people recommend this.....

Thanks,
Scott.

I know people who have done it. I think Vortech approves but maybe so you will have repairs?
