ignition advance

Ok, I took my TA out today for some data logging with Atap. I logged a maximum advance of 33 degrees at 100kpa at 4000rpm. My boost gauge holds steady at 7psi. Do you think this is too much timing for 4000rpm. Also the MAF sensor max was around 236g/s.

100kpa is 0 vacumm and 0 boost. That is the correct timing for those conditions. The only way to determine if that is too much timing for 7psi is to put it on a dyno and play with it. My old singe had 34 degrees at 12psi, that was 110 octane though.

Thanks for reply. I'll probably do what you suggest, but first I wanna smooth out the idle a bit, and take car of a little surge.

100KPA will be at 199999999PSI boost or 0 boost 0 vacuum in these cars...

I ran 36 total advance with 9:1 CR and 5psi boost... I am running 26 total advance with 10psi boost and 600rwhp.. IATs no greater than 120...
