How much rwhp will a 8psi ati procharger system give you on your 93-97 camaro lt1 z28. Also how long before a rebuild on a stock application. Any way to build the engine up to prevent a rebuild soon. If so what do I need. And whats the longest mileage someone had gone on a stock application with forceinduction before a rebuild

 

I'd say you're probably looking at a 130-150 rwhp gain with similar gains in torque. The best way to prevent a near future rebuild would be to have a set of low compression, forged pistons installed. If that's out of the question, then have the car tuned on a dyno with a wide band and use good gas all the time. Just be ready to rebuilt it sooner or later.

I've got around 35-40k on a stock bottom end with a 7 psi non-intercooled setup on my 97 TA. Only bit of trouble was from a faulty fuel pressure regulator which caused a head gasket to blow after I had Tony cut some fuel and I then found and fixed the problem. Woops. Oh well, the new heads and cam are awesome.

 

I have never had my car on a dyno, but the 1/4 times dropped from 13.8 to 12.5 with a 8 psi procharger and shorty headers. This car has never been "tuned" by any means other than me with a tech 1 running the car and adjusting fp.

 

Back when my motor was stock (the only thing I did was replace valve springs), it made 405 RWHP / 418 RWTQ on 8#'s of boost, FLP longtubes, 3" Flowmaster.

The best it ran was 11.81 @ 116.50.

It lasted about 2½ years, 16,000 miles, 75 or so trips down the track and 20 or so dyno pulls.

With 9 psi on a bone stock automatic Z28. PTK's kit made 454rwhp/576rwtq with a T66 p-trim.

Never did 8psi but I did 10psi. No dyno pulls but 11.7@133. It was like 120 on the track and very greasy.
