heres problem with 2bolt mains and boost.
boost causes cylender pressure, and of course the more cyl pressure you got the harder its going to push on that piston/rod. If you got 2 bolt main its going to try to rip it out of the block, most of the time 2 bolts have hair line craks caused from stress around where the cap bolts in, that gives too much flex on the cap and then spins a rod/main bearings.

As long as I can run 500 rwhp for a couple of years, Im O.K.

I plan on rebuilding again in the future, but for now, I hope my F1A on 11 psi is safe for a while.

have you ever seen this yourself or just a brothers neices fiances cousin on her mothers sides brother

only asking cause i have never really heard much of this happening, only spinning bearings, and mostly from high rpms not CYLINDER pressure as you call it

So are you making 600+rwhp with a 2 bolt? or you just heard from a brothers neices fiances cousin that its possible? Spinning bearings from high rpm? damn there must be alot of people spinning their engines past 8k rpm then huh? Because as far as i know, stock buttom end lt1 is limited to high reving by top end parts only.
So let me get this straight, IF you take an lt1 throw some good rods and pistons in it, fuel system and a tune you can pretty much slap any big power adder on it and make 600rwhp no problem as long as you dont rev it past what rpm now?

Then I would say our experiences have varied. EVERY stock bottom end lt1 I have ever seen taken past the stock range has eventually spun a bearing. It took mine 13k, another one @ 10k, and I have had them not make it around the block. 600rwhp is no joke, but its not miracle either. I have done 600 on bottle with 2 bolt studded mains many times over about 10k miles. A lifter let go on that motor. Mains and crank looked perfect when it was taken apart.

How many lt1s do you know of spinning to 8k?

Sure its better to have the extra security, but just because you spend 5x more than me doesn't mean jack.

does elevation really matter with boost? I didnt think you corrected boosted numbers the same way because of that. 10psi at sea level is the same as 10 psi at 5000 ft i thought?

.
joe o spun his damn near 8k rpm.
Anyone that runs boosted lt1 will tell you that going over 500rwhp is pushing your luck with 2 bolt main studed or not. It cost 5 times more to put a decent crank and splay the caps? damn thats crazy if you ask me, caps cost around 450, 500 labor to do them, decent crank is another $800. But yes i do need the extra security, my car made 680rwhp through a 9"/th400 with a loose stall at only 17# ripping a belt in half, on its way easily into 800rwhp as it pulley to run 26+#s
