For 8 grand you should EASLY hit 410rwhp.. You could get LE heads and cam, full exhaust and a supercharger which would put you 500+rwhp!! and still have some money left over!

Sorry to say, but i agree.
95Z28ConvertCam, if your goal is 410rwhp get the idea of a single or twin turbo set up out of your mind. If your asking what power you would make on whats in your sig if you added a turbo, your already way in over your head on something like this.

410rwhp is a very achevable (sp?) goal going N/A.
Make sure you read CamaroBoy96Z28's post.

Oh yeah...almost forgot to add that you'll def need to bump the Chassy and suspension up wit ha Turbo... I.E. 12 bolt might be good...LCA... nice set of shocks ... LCA.... SUB connectors... you have no idea how bad Turbo LT's are..... God I can't wait

The idea of a Turbo F-body is not to make power...It's to make power and be different!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's allot more out the box SUpercharger guys than there are homeade Turbo guys... makes it that much special...

one day......

You do know that you can get an out of the box turbo kit for an LT1 right? Do a search on Pro Turbo Kits (PTK) and see what you come up with.

Heatmaker, the whole idea of a turbo is to make power. If I wanted to be different I would buy a Ferrari. Or one of those noise makers you put in your exhaust pipe.

8 grand is indeed a lot, and you can do alot with it, but playing with grand nationals is risky business.

Yeah, GNs can be deceptive. One round you hang with them and the next they turn up the boost and smoke so bad it's not even funny.

You seemed to miss the sarcasm in my statement. Only a few companies offer off the shelf Turbo kits... but mose guys pro fab thier own. I should know I called to order mine and they want damn near $1,500 more than what is was listed for.... rather wait and build my own...more satisfying.

Noise maker in my exhaust pipe? You mean my engine? cause I'm running open headers....

....go figure....

It's cool if you want to fab up your own turbo kit and I give props to anyone who can actually do it. Personally, I'd rather buy a set of headers and bolt a turbo to them, then just fab the intake side, but whatever floats your boat.

I wasn't refering to you personally, I was talking about this joke of a product...

Also, who did you call about a kit? PTK clearly prints on their website that the prices listed don't include the turbocharger itself. That arrangement is somewhat nice because you can pick the turbo that fits your application and upgrading is extremely easy since the same set of hot parts and intake parts will work with any turbo from a 30 series to a 76mm. They will also work with larger turbos like the 88mm with very little alteration.

To get that power on a stock motor with 8 grand: Screw the LE heads and get a pair of AFR's with 78cc combustion chambers. That will lower your compression enough to allow the blower to be run on your stock engine rather safely. Pick up a blower cam (search the FI forum for recomendations) and buy a used blower system. This will allow you to run higher than 8 psi if you want and still prevent detonation from the high stock compression ratio. Detonation is what kills the stock pistons! Keep it away and you will EASILY make 410. Should make quite a bit more!

Oh,

I had called Turbo City... the ones that sell the kit for $3.9K with the 60 Hi-Fi turbo. When I called to order they wanted something like 5.9K for the kit. I do plan oon getting the headers premanufactured thogh...I think headers is one of the harder parts to do... to many bends to fab out and not enough time. Instead of getting the kit... I dumped the 4K into the Tranny & Chassy... Atleast she connects good for now. I just realized the more I researched the pre made Kit's VS the Homeade kits... I saw that the Homade kits looked like they were better built and seemed to fit better than the ones out there online.

BTW what is PTK's web address?

Hopefully... This summer = HEads & Cam Nitrous (again)

Next Summer = Pull engine... rebuld replace... Turbo

I bolted on my twin turbo kit and made the power in my signature. Dont let anyone tell you; you cant bolt on a turbo kit and make a lot of power because I did
