How much boost does a D1 with a big pulley make on a stock size engine?

About to get a D1 for my stock engine and I want to get the biggest pulley I can get for it to keep the boost low. Anyone running the 4.x pulley with a stock engine (or at least a 35x) and what boost are you seeing?

Hal

Looks like you have twin highflows, and it still gets 11? Humm... The guys at PCMFORLESS say it should be 7 to 8?

I see 13psi with twins on a D1SC at 6200. Still tuning and will pull her upto 6600, so I should get another 1psi. I am using a 3.4 blower and 7.65 crank pulley.

DONT trade your blower for a p1 (your other post) you can get the desired boost of 7 if you want to... I'm not sure of your situation but you will eventually build your motor for boost, and you'll want the D1....With a 8.1 hub and a 4.3 blower should get in the 7-8psi area, but either way its going to die if its stock.... Buy another block and start a slow build, parts are cheap and there alot of people selling unfinsed projects...

EDIT I have a 8.1 and 4.3 You need larger!

Most of the kits come with a 7.65 crank pulley and I know you can get a 4.5 blower pulley which would put him at a very manageable 6 psi. Your boost numbers seem really high. Are you running a D1 or D1SC?

ATI said there was only 1 crank size pulley? Also, Ati said even with the 4.5 it would be more like 10 -11.

Sorry, I keep saying D1 but it really a D1SC. But that doesn't seem to make a difference in boost, does it?

Please help here!

Well I just called and according to ATI I have the smaller crank pulley (7.65?). That and a 4.5 pulley shifting around 5100 should keep it well below 8#, right?

97WS6pilot How much for that 4.5 pulley?

Well, I don't want to act all butt-achy about this but all of a sudden after I worked on figuring out if it worked for me the guy sold it. Ouch! Oh well.

Real Quick is a member/vender for turbo kits and parts, very nice pieces and big power!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turbo will leave him with the same problems.... You can run 50psi if its safe, no detonation, and your supporting parts can take the power.. This is a stock motor correct? This is why you want to be at 7 psi? Or is it to pass emissions? If its a stock lt1 it will blow hole in the piston no matter.... Further more at 7 psi you would get way more power out of a head cam combo.....

D1 does flow more than a D1SC and I shift at 6700rpms.... Maybe I was off on my measure it must be a 7.65 crank, I measured from outside edges....
