How much Boost can I hold?
Just got my new 383 running and I have a powerdyne SC on there now. I am looking at selling it and going with a Procharger. My question is what amount of boost will I be safe with and not break anything (Major) Motor is:
LT1 Block
Eagle Forged Crank
Eagle H Beam Rods
JE Blower pistions (Dished 28.00 CC?)
ARP Main studs
High Pressure Oil pump
Moroso 7QT Oil Pan
Lingenfelter LT1 Ported Heads and Intake
ARP Head bolts
CC blower cam Specs:224 236 .502 .520 on a 114 LSA
52 MM TB
Getting 72LB injectors
Alky Injection
I believe that is all I think my Compression ratio is 8.5:1 Thanks for the help

Re: How much Boost can I hold?
As long as the tune is good, I'd say start with 12psi and slowly work up. If you have an intercooled procharger AND alcy, you should be able to push plenty of power. With a 9", street twin, and I'm guessing the 4340 crank with H-beams, you should be able to hold 14psi or even 16 without sweating. But then you'll start running into goofy problems and random seals blowing and such... I think even 12psi will be enough for a while . But again, it's all in the tune. You could tune it **** poor and detonate at 6psi. The cam is a standard grind, nothing special?

I agree with Geoff, your bottom end should be reliable WITH A GOOD TUNE to 15-16psi. After that you may need to look into getting the decks O-ringed to keep gasket blow-by at bay. With a T-trim at 15psi, you're looking at somewhere between 600 and 700rwhp with your combo. So double check the ratings on the parts of your bottom end before pushing it any farther than that. Sounds like a great combo, BTW.
