How loud does a 4" mufflex get on a blown setup

I was thinking about putting a 4" mufflex on my car (with custom Y pipe for the FLPs) .. the mufflex has the flowmaster muffler...

right now i have true duals with 4 bullet mufflers on it and its way too loud for what i want for the car ... i was going to put a borla on it with my FLP Y pipe .. but i realize that that will only hurt my hp when i put up the boost

so i would like to see / hear some clips on blown setup with a mufflex setup

thanx

The flowmaster with the mufflex is quiet in my opinion. I've always had loud exhaust though so my taste are not like everybody elses. Couple days ago I finally ditched the trashmaster....errr....flowmaster and put on a 4" bullet in place. Awwwww yea....

I was running a P600B w/ FLP Longtubes, ORP's, and a 4" Mufflex w/ the Flowmaster and I loved it. I didn't notice a difference in the exhaust note when I addded the blower to the set up. To be honest the car was loud before the blower, but the exhaust rumble was still overpowered by the P600B's whistling! I'm upgrading to a D1 SC as we speak and we'll see how that affects the sound. I think it probably depends on which blower you have!

i have the loudest mother of all blowers .. the V1 Strim

how much of a hp restriction do u guys think the FLP Y pipe and a 3" borla would be compared to a custom Y pipe thru a 4" mufflex

OR . maybe i'll just add 2 more mufflers on my true duals and keep it ...

on another note, anyone run their true dual pipes under their axel ? mine dump at my axel . i could easily add 2 street mufflers after my 4 bullets .. im sure it'll be quiet enough then

Are you concerned about interior noise or the noise level outside of the car?

Talking

I heard the flowmaster on a 4 inch exhaust can be pretty loud but a spintech Muffler sounds better and does not give that drowning sound that you get from some flowmaster at crusing speeds on the highway. Mufflex can make you a 4inch catback with the spintech too.

I did not want to spend the 650.00 for the 4inch muffler so here is what I just installed on my borla last weekend.
It quieted down my car a lot with the plate closed and.....well...click and read on, I did a full write up on it with pics.

I also heard FI guys on here getting like 6-10 more RWHP with the plate open too. I am sure the 4inch would give you more power but I was not willing to spend that kinda change for it besides, now I have an exhaust that can sound Some what Mild to WILD by a flip of a switch within 2 seconds.

Thx,
Claude

I'll second the Spintech, my 4" dual out setup works great, MUCH quieter than true duals.

LT Headers + 4" flowmaster + stock motor = too loud for me . I run a Borla fully blocked off. It is just right.

The Mufflex isn't horribly loud until you go WOT - its just too loud - everyone w/in a mile can hear you.

I have the single outlet spintech on mine and it is quieter than the dual outlet.

1LEThumper's car has a similar Mufflex setup. When the car is in the garage it's deafening, but when it's out in the open it's not bad... but then again, I ran my car with glasspacks for a couple months. You will definately be the loudest car in the vicinity. But loud in a damn good way

I'd keep the duals and run stock-type mufflers or something like a Dynomax Ultra-Flow--they aren't very loud but flow great.

does anyone ever have a problem with the 4" pipe hitting the axle while going over any bumps? do the two mufflers have a different sound, spintech and flowmaster. or just loudness and drone? thanks
