How to adjust BOV
How to adjust BOV
I have a Greedy BOV and i want it to be open all the way... it has the nut and alan head screw on the top of it like they all have. is full atmosphere where the alan head is to the point where if you would loosen it like three more turns it would come out?
Re: How to adjust BOV
Id like to see someone elses way, I bought my used with no instructions.
I have manifold vaccuum going to the top of the diaphragm and a hose going from the lower part of the diaphragm to a port between my carb and blower.
Alot of people dont refrence below the diaphragm, it seemed to help on mine for opening it to bypass and in its responsiveness when shifting.
I have the set screw about 2 turns in from fully out and it seems to work ok

Re: How to adjust BOV
did you have some watching your gauge while you played with it?
my buddy had a 04 wrx and i think his BOV was a HKS and he adjusted a nut on the top of it to make it full atmosphere and it was loud as sh$t. i never watched him but thats what he said he did

Re: How to adjust BOV
no...I turned the nut half a turn and then took the car and then watched the boost guage to see where it opens....
sounds to me like yours is not going full open.....go back the nut out half a turn and go for a spin....and look on your boost gauge to see how many HG it takes to open the BOV when you let off the throttle

Re: How to adjust BOV
i haven't taken the car out of the garage since last september yet, installing subframes and then i will do what you said. so i have never started the car up yet since i installed the Greedy this winter. i was running a 1g DSM and it just whistled real loud but no sssshhh noise. but my car is loud with my exhaust so that might be it,hood open you could hear it plan as day. thanks
Re: How to adjust BOV
I believe that supercharged cars will never achieved the sound of a turbocharged car when the blowoff/bypass opens because of the mechanics of it all. On top of that, we all have loud exhaust and thin valve covers. There's so much noise that the blowoff is inaudible. Were you able to actually hear the dsm bov better than the stock bpv? I'm curious... I thought about getting a flange and putting a dsm blowoff valve on the car.
