Hit the dyno again

Local group was hosting a dyno day and I thought I would see what happened. $40 for 3 pulls.

My wideband was showing 10ish and the dyno read 11.5 to 12.5 then towards 10 up top. Going to try to recalibrate mine and see what happens there.

So basically having my tune off, pulled 4 degrees because of my iats... blah blah excuses of more stuff I need to do.

18psi at peak tq and dropping off to about 15 psi up top.
560hp and 640tq

Not bad considering there is about $1k in my kit and about $2k total in mods on the car. I have no doubt that this little turbo can get to my old goal of 600 to the wheels. Hell my peak hp is just before 5000 rpms, either I need a bigger cam or a bigger hairdryer.

Stock heads with the chambers opened up to 60cc. Well to be entirely honest they do have a minor port job with some gasket matching, but the flow numbers were still quite low.

I think the turbo might be out of steam at that boost level (too much intake restriction)... but you could certainly find some more power by porting the heads.

I'm not for sure, I know I need more time on the dyno though. The event had a lot of people so it was just 3 pulls without much time to play/tune. 3psi from the boost controller gained 60ish hp/tq. Thats really interesting considering that I have seen lots of cars do 20hp per 1 psi... but at 15 psi that should be 300hp.

I was talking with a buddy earlier and these numbers may be about right. 357 ci, low 8.5 compression, tiny tiny baby cam with a 112 lsa, stockish heads. The motor might only be 250hp na and then another 300hp from the 15psi up top.

But I agree, if its not out of steam its damn close. I may try to get a pull with the wastegate blocked off and pray it doesn't spike too high, so I can see if it will make more boost up top. If I could hold that monster tq a little longer, just a few hundre more rpms then that would put me well into the 600 club.

And I still didn't get to play with my timing to see how much/little she really likes.

I need to scan my dyno sheet and get everyones feedback. I'm over 600# until about 5k. From 5.5k to 6k I drop 200 hp and tq both take a nose dive from about 500 each to 300 each in just 500rpm. Looking at my log I do loose a few psi up top, but its holding 15+ Honestly it looks like my stock motor curve was with 150 shot,,, just much bigger numbers.

Cam too small?

hows your AFR? running out of fuel maybe up top? Either out of fuel, or out of air, or heads/cam/turbo arent flowing enough

Sheets still at home... I actually got fatter up top. I'm running 11:1 afr in the area thats falling off on power. "calculated" duty cycle by megasquirt was getting in the upper 80% area, but that assumes that I have my injector opening time set dead on.

Hmmm 6k rpms and 90% duty cycle with 11:1 afr doesn't sound like 300hp. I'll get my sheet tonight.

Fuel system
60# Dekas
Stock lines
Stock rails
aeromotive regulator
60psi base - 1:1 rise and generally shows about 70psi on the rail up top
2 x 255 walbro in tank
91 10% horse ****

Sorry, don't ever paint a room purple and expect to take pictures in here. Its like a black hole,,, no light. You can read it though. Don't feel like digging the wife's scanner out.

Somebody took video

Mmm toasty

Yes this is my first time to run a car on the dyno,,, and first time to run it with a solid brass clutch. With a load on the street its easy to drive.... a bitch on the dynojet

Pull 2 - Same as pull one but it cut out twice in the pull. From inside it didn't sound bad,,, from outside it sounds really bad. Might want to figure that out.

Pull 3 - MORE BOOST = Best pull - I am running 3.42s in the rear. I would say she gets from 2k to 6k in a hurry, well once it spools.

Well as luck would have it, somebody is begging for my T70 for a 4.6 build. They offered a damn good price considering I got it cheap.... Might grab a MP T76. Should I do it? Will cost me about $200 to step up.
