Re: help with guestimate.

My recommendation is 75 lb/hr injectors with LJ's impedence converter box. I had some start-up tuning issues with the 84's that people aren't having with the 75's. High impedence won't cut it, though.

You can run 10-12 psi non-intercooled, but you'll have to run a butt-load of timing retard, which would kill about 60 hp. If you don't have the $$$ for an intercooler, might I suggest alky injection?

Gap the rings at .024-.026 top, and .018-.020 2nd.

My hp peaks around 6200 if I remember right.

Re: help with guestimate.

Not everyone has had this problem, but I couldn't run 22 deg timing with programming alone. For some reason, the timing would default to 30+ degrees even though I had 15 - 25 programmed in. I had to run the HI6TR to get my timing down. Like I said, though, no one else seemed to have that problem.

Re: help with guestimate.

I brought this up in another thread, but nobody wanted to comment on this...

What about the 60lb Motron high Z injectors?

There's a fair amount of LS1 guys who are running those with good luck, and at high rwhp levels too (600-800 RWHP). They don't seem to have nearly the issues that many other extremely large High Z injectors seem to with idling, etc.

Why are the high Z injectors so vital when you can just turn up the fuel pressure some with a set of these?

Just curious. I'm going to be taking the plunge into the forced induction world here shortly (with a setup quite similar in ways to yours BTW) and the Motrons seem like they are a nice piece.

You might want to look on eBay, alot of people have been having good luck with the OBX intercoolers off there. I'm going to try one out, hopefully by January. Usually you can get them for $250-300 shipped to your door.

I've heard good things about the Motron 60s as well. Alot of LS1 guys have had pretty good luck with them with no adverse effects on the idle. While you can turn up the fuel pressure, the computer will normally compensate and reduce the injector pulse width. Even if the computer doesn't, you have to be careful, especially with FI or nitrous, that you don't push the injector beyond what it was designed for or it may lock up. That's a bad thing.
