Unhappy Header Help

I am building a 383 and I am planning on using a blower on the car. Which headers will work better on a 97 Camaro that has been lowered. I was interested in the Jet Hot LT but I have seen Finish Line Performance (FLP LT) also have a system but it costs double the Jet Hots. I live in California and I still have to worry about emissions that is why I have chosen these two particular companies. Does anyone out there with a similar setup have any suggestions for me. Is one of these two companies better than the other or is there another comparable header manufacturer out there that still has the proper emission connections. Are the hooker headers as good as the Jet Hots or are they a cheaper design. Thanks for your imput.

You will find all the info you need by using the search feature in the lt1 tech section.

to do a quick fill in here. JetHot's are a copy of hookers, but have different collectors and emission hookups. NO LT1 longtube header on the market currently is CARB approved,so you have to take that into consideration.

Just curious here..... isn't the FLP headers CARB approved? I thought that was one reason for the HIGH price. They have all the emissions stuff and dual cats.

FLP's are high priced due to coming with cats and y pipe, best of my knowledge they havent been carb approved. and nothing on thier site indicates they have been certified.

The only headers that can be CARB approved are the ones that don't change the location of the catalytic converter(s).

Unfortunately, longtubes don't fall into that category.

I would personally use the Jet Hot headers, and build a custom y-pipe with random tech cats.

FLP headers

No matter what there is not a single long tube header that is carb approved. As soon as the catalytic converter is moved from its origional location a smog shop technically does not have to pass your car because it will not pass visual test at many places. However it would more than likely pass the sniffer test as long as there are two cats and a ok muffler.

I contacted FLP today and I was told they do not even have a LT header on the market they are selling as or right now. They did tell me they were making a LT header for the new GTO cars. So I am a wee bit bummed out . But my question is for the people that say or claim on their web pages they have FLP long tube headers on their car. Where did they get them and what did they pay for them. Did you purchase the whole 1300 dollar kit or just the headers. If you just bought the headers then what did you do for a y-pipe then and cats. Thanks
