Re: have a few questions about P-1SC on LT1
You need to decide on the fuel setup. FMU or custom tune with injectors? Most people go with a custom tune and injectors but I used an FMU for a long time and it worked fine. Some type of ignition amplifier would help also.
Re: have a few questions about P-1SC on LT1
There are several suggestions, some of which would have you rethink your purchase. But congratulations on your new project.
1) FMU - Dump it from the start. Don't even install it. Go with 42# injectors and get a tune ready to go before you fire it up.
2) Keep the tuning very conservative, as your pistons are going to blow at the slightest detonation (knock).
3) If you have no plans on rebuilding your engine, I might suggesting planning (and saving) on rebuilding it. You should lower your compression via forged pistons as soon as possible.
4) Spark Plugs - .035 gap, no platinum.
Have fun!

I assumed this would be going on a stock long block. If your gonna start changing engine parts, that's a whole different ballgame. But, just realize that the stock pistons may or may not last awhile.

If I did it all over again I would not buy a kit. I would buy the D1SC with the mounting bracket,SDCE tensioner, pulleys, belt and new style procharger intake. Buy a mondo valve and then buy a front mount intercooler and tubing off ebay. If you ever want to build your motor for more HP this will save you alot of money later on. Go ahead and get the mototron 60's and ditch the fmu.
