Hands in Pockets tuning fires up its MegaSquirted LS1

Ok - So its not advertising, because there is no such business yet.
Its not done by anymeans - but it does run.
I'm not the first by any means either, but def something new in my portfolio.

I'll add to this as the car is slowely finished up - but I'm just excited to have MS running with the stock crank/cam sensors and coil packs.

370 iron block
garrett 88
MS2 extra
Not my car so I won't share much more now.

Well keep us informed. This may be another alternative to the LS1 PCM which by the way is much more expensive. I wanted to get up to Moore and see your car but I'm stuck at Lawton, OK with no transportation. Good luck with it.

Ya I didn't get back from WI in time either. Maybe next time though.

The ls1 pcm is awesome by comparison to the lt1 computer... but by the time you get tuning software, pay extra for the "2 bar OS" it is a lot of money.

This setup is also running low z injectors... so that saved another several hundred dollars by not needing a driver box.

Well the ls1 pcm is NOT that expensive. And the 2 bar OS does NOT cost any extra money to do.

My question is do you have the msd setup running the coils or are you using MS to run them? If MS is running them then how? And can MS 1 do the same (I would rather have ms1 and msExtras instead of ms2)

Buying a truck harness and modding it with the truck pcm, buying efi live, and 2 bar'ing it WOULD be similar cost if not cheaper in comparison to the MSD trigger junk and ms.

plus i just LOVE EFI Live 2 bar os.

No - I do not have any msd equipment.

The crank and cam sensors from the ls1 are driving the megasquirt, which is in turn driving the coil packs.

I am running ms2 extra code - which has just about anything ms1 extra does now. In the past there was very little support for extra on ms2, now its huge. Yes you can do the same thing on ms1, but the mods are a bit different and I think you have fewer inputs/outputs available.

Whats efi live cost these days?

EFI Live v1 is $550. We have three gen 3 projects going so it kinda makes sence to go this route...

But your MSII project has me interested...

Live v2 is $800 and comes with a handheld you can tune from. But really pointless unless your tuning brand new vehicles (which only v2 supports).

Mute point though. You can only use your MS on one car. Not many like Live or the other tuners.

It is really cool though that they have MS running COP now...

Is efi live per vin though? All the other editors are. If you can get one thats unlimited for $800 thats a steal. I need to pick up HP because I have used it some, and the demand is still there - but its like $100-150 each additional vin.

Old bump - Car went high 11x in the 1/8th on 10ish psi and broke a valve guide. Hope the owner gets the motor back together soon. Weather has been very nice.
