Fuel system
Fuel system
If you had the choice of building a fuel system that will support over 700rw which would you choose. right now Im in the middle of trying to decide wether to sump the tank and run a Barry grant fuel pump and some braided lines with an aeromitive fuel pump controler. Or run a twin intank and retain the factory lines and leav it at that. Or just by the whole aeromotive kit with the Eleminator fuel pump and all the lines and an fittings. What would you guys choose?. I would like to run the twin walbros intank but Im finding it harder and hader for someone to build one of these for me.

Would it be better if I told him to rip out the tank and mount a fuel cell?
Re: Fuel system
I would suggest some sort of sump if you are thinking about using the Aeromotive F-Body kit. I used Aeromotives set-up for our cars and was definately not pleased. The tiny little 3/8 hose (I do mean rubber hose) that is used for suction in place of the stock pump is worthless. As much fuel as the A1000 flows the feed was just not able to keep up with demand and the pump actually started sucking the air out of the heated up fuel....not a good thing on a boosted motor.
Don't get me wrong I am impressed by the Aeromotive pump, regulator, billet relay, and filters. I have had no reliability issues whatsoever.
Due to the location of the exhaust on our cars I had to custom build a sumped tank. I took a brand new tank cut a hole in the front of the tank, put a hard 5/8 feed line through the hole and brazed it in place. It works the same as a sump because the pick-up is in the same location (rear, center, bottom of the tank). The benefit of my design is the fuel doesn't have to be pulled around the outside of the tank, near the exhaust. Mine stays in the tank and really stays cooler due to the line being submerged in fuel. It's kind of hard to visualize, and I wish I hard taken pictures because it really is a slick set-up.....
