Front-mount i/c nerf bar

I posted on some other thread about having my front mount intercooler more-or-less protected by a nerf bar built by Top of the Hill. Here is a link to a pic: http://para.noid.org/~lj/Nerfbar.jpg. Here is a pic of the first piece of i/c inlet duct work: http://para.noid.org/~lj/Lowerpan.jpg. Eventually the front of the i/c will be "sealed" to the grille opening.

Looks good Jeff. I'm making something similar only it's more of a cage (top and bottom bars w/ a side bar for support) and it's made of cheap ole 1x1 square tubing.

Looks very cool! Are you going to make a shroud for the top too?

Yeah, the plan to to make a "tin tunnel" to more-or-less seal the i/c to the grill opening.

Any chance you can stencil your upper and lower shroud (maybe cut up 5 pieces). Include the nerf bar and sell it as a kit. If it's reasonable, you may get a few buyers. Personally, I like it idea a lot. Should help with our Los Angeles stop-and-go traffic..

I keep leaning on Craig (Top of the) Hill to do small production runs of the stuff he's made for me (3.5" and 4" blower intake tubes, the nerf bar, etc), but he says there is not enough $ in it. I'll try again!

Re: Front-mount i/c nerf bar

I bought a set of N Fab wheel to wheel nerf bars and the instructions are to drill holes into the pinch weld at the bottom of the cab.

That's realy strong enough to hold these guys???
