Flexplate and balancer?

What flexplate and balancer would be best for my motor?

Its a internally balanced 383 about 9-9.5:1 compression, and a T76. Mostly street, 4L60E with a 2800 stall and a 4.11 12 bolt.

Stock, heavier, or lighter than stock flexplate? Aluminum, steel, too many options?

As far as the dampner, what brand does everyone seem to like? It looks like ATI is a good one, what about a rattler? Or the summit brand, a lot of options on these too.

I run an ATI balancer and like it, also i run a TCI flexplate with a 10inch 3600 stall, That rear gear is gonna kill you.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a 3.73 but I'll run it until I can't stand it anymore.

I know stock is 153 teeth, but what do I need to be looking for? Will a 168 tooth flexplate work.

Also what diameter dampner do I need?

If you go to a 168T flywheel, you will have to change the starter to fit. If you have an internal balance motor, you can run a zero balance flywheel and balancer, no external weights. The machinist should have you include these things when balancing the motor. The ATI and TCI parts mentioned earlier are great quality parts and will work fine. I personally run a 6 1/4" balancer instead of the 8", (rotating mass). Always run SFI approved parts for safety sake when modifying a motor at your level.

With the T76, you may want to install 3.08-3.42's in the rear, depending on your tire size. You want to load the motor. The 4.10's rev too quick and waist energy.

Good luck.

It'll definitely need different gears. So it looks like I need to look for a 153 tooth flywheel. Would a lighter, heavier, or stock weight flywheel work best with a big cube turbo motor? Also is that smaller dampner an underdrive unit? Any problems with running the accessories a little slower?
