Ever have a Autometer/or any FP gauge up and die?

I drove my Z28 around last night just to get some fresh air.....everything normal.

Fuel pressure 43-45 range .....car runs fine...

go to start the car this morning and it fires right up....but the damn FP gauge is pointing well bellow 0psi and is just sitting on the screw that holds the gauge face in....wth.....thats not right....it must have fuel

I killed it.....hooked up the pressure tester to the rail....fired it back up and its showing 45 psi , even under load its fine..both fuel pumps kicking away...car drives fine...makes boost fine.. so I know I have fuel to the rail....but what the hell happend to my autometer FP gauge..did it just call it quits?

I had a autometer cobalt series boost gauge ($200!!!) die on me not too long ago. Out of the blue, the needle dropped to the bottom and never moved again.

I sent just the gauge in and they sent me an entire box back free of charge -- gauge, sending unit (3 bar map sensor), wiring harness, etc.

Is this electronic of mechanical? If electronic, have you checked the module box? Mine recently did the same thing, after I was futzing around with the kick panel under the steering wheel. That's where my module is and I'm 99% sure I just pulled a wire out of it with moving that panel around.

Check that first!

Yup. I believe it was out of warranty by less than a month, but they had no problem replacing it for free anyway. Must've caught a tech on a good day.

I had an electric one die on the dyno a month ago on me. It ended up being the sending unit. Once I replaced the sending unit, it worked again.
