Build a ram air setup from Home Depot. You'll get more from that. Prepare to be flamed for posting about an electric supercharger.

A breakdown of why it cannot work as advertised:
Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. There is no such thing as perpetual motion outside of Washington DC or the line at the DMV.

Watts=Amps x Voltage
HP=Watts / 746
It takes HP to make HP with a supercharger.

They claim it draws 2.2 amps when running.

2.2 x 14.3 = 31.46 watts
31.46 / 746
Electric motor HP = 0.042

An electric pencil sharpener has more power.

Got a small nuclear reactor to generate the power? That ought to be a little more efficient. Otherwise I wouldn't suggest it.

And that's assuming it is 100% efficient, which it is not.

wow. they're getting $350 for those these days? I remember when they were $29. If I weren't such an honest person, I'd start a new business.

Re: Electric Supercharger... any thoughts???

it is easy to see that it is junk lol. think about how many Cubic fet of air your car needs every minute... if it is a v-8 you are looing at at least 600cfm.. i am sure the LS series can use more. but 600 would be a minimum.. so in order to get 250cfm of forced air it would have to pass 850cfm into the intake and push it into the motor.. I am sorry.. but no electric fan like that is going to do that.. the most that thing might do is lower your HP and fuel econmy because it creats a pretty significant air blockage in the intake. especially if it is turned off..

350 bucks for a cheaply made product that does not produce the "as advertised" glorified results. Gotta love Ebay.

umm...unless it's free.

Maybe "you get what you pay for" would be more appropriate in this situation

It would take a cooling fan mounted behind a 16" pipe that tapered down to 3" in order to make some CFM thats worth it..

HMM..maybe thats my next million dollar idea. Get something that you can put behind the cooling fans and into the intake..Heck with the CFM comin off those fans I could probably sell it for $800!! haha- I guess all it takes is stupid people to buy stupid things to get rich these days...

Re: Electric Supercharger... any thoughts???

yep.. all most people will see is the 250cfm of forced air.. without ever actually thinking about how much air it would actually have to push in order to get any forced air. Not to mention i do not think an electric fan could do it anyhow.. it would be like putting a normal fan flush with a wall with it blowing on it.. or laying it on the ground.. after about 50 hours of htat to motor is burned up because electric fan motors are not made to deal with the backpreassure like that.
