Ebay turbos ?

Are there any difference between them and a name brand one? My buddy says there is no need to spend alot of money on one for a car making 5-600 rwhp. He bought one for his car a t-70 for 190 shipped i think it is too cheap but i dont know anything about turbos. He is trying to convince me to build my car with a turbo buy the hot parts and get a ebay t4 t-76 turbo for 300 bucks ebay intercooler and piping. My car is stock and i am buldging a forged 355 low compression motor over the winter but am putting forced induction on the stock lt1. Do you think it is a good idea to buy a ceap turbo for those power needs. Thanks

you really get what you pay for, I know a few people with ebay turbos, some have broke impellers right in half etc. some work some dont its like a 50/50 shot. i wouldnt try to compair a ebay t76 to say a turbonetics or something. it just wont perform the same.
