In my opinion, it's not if, but when you'll need to rebuild the engine when running a super charger. I got 20K miles on my stock engine after installing a 6# Vortech kit with no intercooler. I did it the safe way (i.e. 24# SVO injectors, ran 1.5 degrees of retard when not using race gas, 1 heat range colder copper plugs, etc). I did 2 road races with the SC with 20 min. sessions that probably took out my ring lands (excessive heat).

I'd start the rebuild fund early.

If tuned correctly and respected, there is no reason 6 psi shouldn't last forever.

It's when people get greedy, or make an error that they tend to pop the lil sucker. A 20 minute session would surely kill any stock supercharged LT1.

As for install- any self contained unit should be pretty easy to do.
