Dyno results inside.

Well, I got it tuned today. Bad news first, the pistons are cussing me out. Good news is I made 456hp/442tq on 8lbs

Details are a stock long block LT1 with a t56. SLP 1 3/4", 3" exhaust and Flowmaster. Crane 1.6rrs. CSI h2o pump.

Anyone want to take bets on how long it runs?

Nice numbers man, now just do a rebuilt with forged pistons and rods and you'll be good to go.

I wish i could afford a blower.

I got it tuned at CAMs by Jeff Creech. I am running the intercooler that came with the P600b kit. It is pretty small but my IATs didn't get above 100 degrees so it must be working.

I'll be procharged in about 2 weeks on a similar setup, but gonna start with 6PSI...hoping to get to high 300's low 400s on it. Still stock bottom end. Got my setup for $1800 intercooler and all Great deal...with a great tune, I hope to keep everything together.

Will post my sheet after dyno tune. Good to hear some feedback on the ATI here.

Re: Dyno results inside.

Those are good numbers from a stock motor, but being up around 450/450 i have seen cars in that range blow up a lot quicker than a car around 400/400. I don't know your situation but some try to keep their motor alive and some want to deastroy it for a future rebuild. I am not sure what year lt1 you have in your car but the strongest rods they had were after 94 or 95, the powered metal ones and they are only rated to 450 hp. You may be on thin ice, good luck/ have fun.

A dyno run is alot quicker than a quarter mile. Watch them when you run, you will notice a large difference!

Re: Dyno results inside.

I did about 480rwhp 455tq today in charlotte.

Did really well, made about 7-8#. What I like is it did it without even trying very hard.. I didn't let the car cool, didn't ice the water box, didn't go crazy with timing, etc. Really I just cleaned it up on the dyno so it will be a consistant and fun car to drive at the track. The guys at the dyno where begging me to throw the 12 or 15psi pulley on just for 1 pull but I declined.

Car is a 9:1 shortblock with a 210/220 cam and cleaned up heads. It has a aftercooler instead of a intercooler.

Rooster, do you still have that Roots-style eaton on your car? Would you mind posting a link to some pics of you do? Thanks!

Making sure the thing never sees detonation will definately help. Is it nice a rich? 11.5-12.0?

Re: Dyno results inside.

I actually looked at a log from a couple of runs before the tune and the IAT didn't get over 30 over ambient.

Humidity wasn't the greatest but wasn't terrible. Highest timing at WOT is around 23 degrees. And we were still seeing some knock retard. A/F is between 11.5-12:1. Jeff said we could have gone more aggressive on the timing and fuel and seen better numbers but he and I agreed for it to be "safe". As safe as can be in the situation. I do have a 96 motor so I guess the rods are a bit stronger than the obd1 cars. I know I am on thin ice but I hope for the best.
