Dropping in some FI

Couldn't I just change my rotating assembly and rop the compression to ets say... 8 1/2 - 9 to 1 Compression? Drop in a supercharger for a nice/safe/powerful engine? I already have a brand new valvetrain, just stock heads... but they are going to be ported by LE.

The fuel system would be upgraded, but it wouldn't be at the same time.

Yes, if you dont get crazy with the boost.

I'd say around 450 RWHP? Not sure what the stock crank and rods can hold up to.

So if I change my rotating assembly, I should be able to handle 10psi safely?

Just 10psi you say?, just by you dropping the compression down will allow you to run that with no problem. the key for your setup to last will be tuning, but then again that the key along with part to anybodys setup to last.

So for like 1500 in parts I can run more then 10psi? haha

I was going to go scat9000, I beam rods, and JE pistons...

what else you think I should do?

Good luck rebuilding it for $1500. All the little stuff adds up quick.

machine work
balancing
gaskets
bolts
rings
bearings
etc

Really? How much does a bottom end rebuild usually cost? I don't think I am going to have it bored/honed if I don't have too. Just the rods/crank/pistons for the forged crap and dropping the compression. What does that typically cost/involve?

Re: Dropping in some FI

If you aren't gonna stroke it- don't worry about the crank...the factory crank is good for over 500 rwhp(got a friend that made 625 on the bottle on a stock crank and it never failed). Do some good I or H beam rods and a set of forged slugs and you'll be good to go.

I am running a Scat 9000 in my 383 with eagle I beams and SRP forged piston.- I only plan to drop in some lower compression JE pistons when I do my SC- and I am looking for the 12-14 psi range(looking for 600 at the wheels(doubtful but i can wish).
