D1 procharger intake dryer hose

Looking for something better than the dryerhose for an LT1 w/D1. Any suggestions?

I don't have any updated pictures of the elbow I made, but here is a pic of the elbow after I welded it and ground it smooth. This is the most difficult piece to make to replace the flexible "dryer hose" that ATI provides with their kit. Once this is made, you can extend the intake tubing to a "safe" location and install a large K & N style filter.

Any idea if this new ATI unit will work with a T-trim? I need to build an elbow, but time is running short.

Got my metal inlet tube from another member on here that fabbed it up. It gained me almost 6#'s of boost over the "new" ATI hard plastic inlet tube. I don't want to post the members name up as they are not a sponser, but feel free to PM me and I can give you more info.

You don't have a lot of room behind the blower and the first primary in your exhaust. If you are custom making something, just make sure to make the accurate measurements, as there really is not much room.

I remember one guy a year ago made an awesome inlet tube that was huge, and I'm sure would be super non-restrictive. However by the time he tried putting it in the car, he realized there was no way it was going to fit.

There are some VERY large air filters out there. My air filter is so big, that it BARELY tucks up underneath my plastic barrier. Anything larger would not fit.

Don't know why or how you would fit two large ones. Just get the biggest single filter that will fit under there and you'll be fine.

Fabbed an intake from 4" 18 Ga exhaust pipe. Cut sections on a miter saw and MIG welded. The 4" pipe fits the D1 intake. Used 8-32 pinch screws and additional bracket to secure the pipe. Eventually did the complete intake section in hard pipe. Picked up alot of manifold pressure due to increased efficiency, but, lost my brake vac-assist boosted since it idles @ 3" Hg. Flows very good now. Air does not like to turn sharp bends and corners. If you need to turn air with limited space, use a turning vane(s) inside the tube. App... 97ss M6 383 D1. B.

This is what I used for a tight 4" bend on my turbo setup. with a 4" radius, you can't get a tighter smooth bend... A pieced together welded one will definitely be more restrictive.
