I don't think it would feed enough air to make a significant difference in power.
I had one on an internally stock motor with bolt-ons and it peaked at 366 hp at 5700 rpms.

For that much money, I'd either just get the bottle. Or build the bottom end of your motor, get some sort of Procharger and really boost it then.

Although I saw a bone stock 96 or 97 WS6 M^ w/ a 4.5 Powerdyne charger on it, run a 13.7@107 w/ 2.3 60'.

There's a guy in the Central Florida F-body Club that has a forged 355ci LT1 (not sure on what cam) with the power-dyne 4.5lb blower and he pulled 409rwhp/411rwtq on the dyno. So, it does add something. However, one should spend a sufficient amount of time determining fuel system requirements before "slapping" a blower on their car.

EDIT: Actually, he responded with his setup below...I was slightly off. Thanks for chiming in Skipper!

Thanks,
I was just wondering. I know that I have a pretty high compression right now. I figured I could pick up a used 4.5lb Powerdyne...install it and it would then push me over that 400 rwhp mark without putting too much more strain on the engine/stock bottom end. I understand about the fuel requirements---I agree.
One of the main reasons I went N/A so far is because noone in my area has the means to tune/service poweradded cars ie Nitrous, Turbo & SC.
But fellas...I'm sooooo close to that 400 rwhp mark. I don't think LTs will get me there. If I was at 390-395 rwhp, I wouldn't worry about it.
Don't get me wrong....I'm happy with what I've got---but I just can't seem to rest peacefully at night knowing I'm so close.

I believe Marty was speaking of me from the CFFB. However, I am running a Powerdyne 6 lb. kit and a small cam (212/224 @ 114 LSA) and short-tube MAC headers. Bottom end is forged. I tune using LT1 edit and use 36 lb. injectors with Powerdyne fuel pump. All this goes through a built 4L60E auto tranny and 3.70 gears in a Currie 9+ rearend (Ford 9"). With prices being pretty close for 6 lb. kits I would probably buy a Vortech 6 lb. kit and maybe pulley it down to 4 lb. with a crank pulley from ASP. Sooner or later you may want more boost and the Powerdyne will limit that.

Having said all that, I love the Powerdyne and feel it is a good bang for the buck. Like everything it does take some adjustment to get things right. Buy Tuner Cat or LT1 edit for adjustments.

Later ... Larry S.

Hey Larry, I (Neal) haven't seen you since I moved to KC. Glad to see you're still hanging around the board! Thanks for clarifying your setup.

If you stay awake at night worry about that, you've got some other issues you need to work out with yourself.
