Cost to rework lt1 heads for larger cc size
Cost to rework lt1 heads for larger cc size
Im in a bind..need info on how much it cost to open up the stock 58cc combustion chambers on a lt1 head.Im in process of building up a 355 with srp pistons prob is.. 58cc head leads me to a 10.4 to 1 compression ratio. Im going to run a p600b ati 8psi blower.I looked for pistons at jegs and summit and can only find pistons for a 6.0 rod that are much lower in compression and perfect for a 58cc head...... Also alot of the pistons i found were cast.and i didnt want to go that route...so going to a 64cc chamber size would give me 9.8 to 1 compression going to a 70cc head would give me 9.2 to 1 compression.I dont know whats involved with doing that..does anyone think i could live with 10.4 to 1 compression with an atip600b putting out 8psi? could i just pulley down the boost to 6lbs or so..any help is appreciated thanks

>Whether you go through Summit/Jegs or whoever ensure that you tell them what your intentions are .
I got my custom JE pistons from www.cmotorsports.com , but you can order through just about all the sponsors here Tbyrne/ThunderRacing/LS1Speed Inc ... and Comination Motorsports (where I got mine as stated above
) .
You can even check with your machine shop to see what they recommend .

bowtie i told jegs what i had..top to bottom and they said those pistons would be fine for my application....what i wish i could get were srp pistons with my 58cc head to be around 9.5 to 1 compression...and so far..i havent found any piston that i can get...that will give me that compression
