cog set up for d1sc
In the last 1 1/2 yrs I was driving my car without getting any boost pressure because the horrible serpentine drive belt is a joke on the 383ci motor. When I give it a gas the sucker slip. So I was just about to had enough. I cancelled the tuning session with Shalin because I did not want to waste $ and time on tuning the car because it not getting any boost. 2-4 psi at 6000rpm and it not holding boost.
I was desperately needed a 8 rib conversion. At that point there are no one out there have 8 rib conversion kit for Procharger for my car. Luckily I met Tom over the corvetteforum. He designed a cogged drive set up for his Vortech 396LT4 vette. When he post a picture. I say to him that is exactly what I have in mind but never persuit it. He has the machine shop made his cogged drive paid $1700. I asked him to send me a copy of his CAD drawing, I made everything myself. I re-engineer the whole mounting bracket, spacers, Spring loads tensioner etc. I spent countless hours doing the testing. I finally got it all sorted out last months. I am extremely pleased with cogged drive setup. I am expecting to see 18psi of boost because my pulley combo is to max out the D1SC. Balancer is 7.3275 blower pulley is 2.931 at 6200rpm the blower impeller speed will be exactly at 62000.
Here is a pic of what a joke ATI serpentine drive belt and a drawing on mine cogged belt conversion.
