CC 224/236 as a turbo cam?

GM High-Tech Performance (Nov 2003 issue p. 15-17) had a twin turbo 96 Camaro that is runing a Comp Cams 224/236, .536/.555 (with 1.6 rockers), No mention of LSA or CL, but it's probably not a bad guess to assume that it's the 114LSA and 110CL cam. The car has a 355 LT1 with 2 Dual Limit Engineering TE-60s up to 20 psi, GTP ported stock heads, custom 6-core intercooler, TH400, 4600 rpm stall, 3200# weight, 3.50 rear, 315/60/15 BFG drag radials,... Best 5.91 @ 112 on 1/8 mile and best 60 ft is 1.49.
This is more of a nitrous or blower cam, so would this car probably run much better with a real turbo cam?
TIA!

that was me, it ran fine. trap speed was down because of a high rpm miss due to the optispark- the main reason I got away from LT1's. It was a fun setup, spooled instantly and was totally streetable... best 60' was a 1.36.

If you throw a bunch of boost at something, and you aren't pushing for every last .01 E.T., the parts (if they are tough) aren't that critical.. That cam was in the motor when I had a blower on it, I didn't feel like changing it and I don't feel like it killed me..

Yea, that 5.91 converts to a 9.20 et i the quarter - not too shabby. . . I actually have the same cam, except using high lift lobes, with my single T-76 turbo set-up. It may not be optimal, but it runs pretty good. INTMD8 did some cam testing with a single turbo and made the same hp with a 214/222 - 114 blower grind as a 226/218 - 117 turbo cam.

i was wondering, because +2 overlap is right on the edge of a turbo cam any more it would be a waste. cool, maybe i'll give it a try on the t76 setup i've been gearing toward.
