car is running

hey guys i finally got my car running. i just had the dual fuel pumps installed with the 2nd pump running off a hobbs switch. car fired right away.

but now... when i turn the key to the on position im getting very little pressure....i try to turn it over and it cranks fine but wont start for a good 5 - 10 seconds, then its back fires a few times before she idles smooth. i am open headers though right now.

and once idling, the fuel pressure is at #44psi with the vacuunm line off the AFPR. and once shees warmed up, she starts right away.

any thoughts guys, i did a search but found no real answers.

Could you put the stocker back in and see if it primes properly?

Not sure if that's the quickest way to tell... Maybe others can chime in.

I assume you have an in car fuel pressure gauge. What does it read when you prime the pump? If you turn the key on multiple times does pressure rise to set point? Does it bleed off?
