Boost

I have a 1995 TA with a vortech supercharger s-trim with 6 lbs of boost. The engine is completely stock other than injectors. I am trying to find the best or easiest way to run 8 or 9 lbs. Thanks in advance.

Re: Boost

I have been doing a lot of research on forced induction and what not and was under the general impression that you could safely run 8 lbs on a stock engine as long as you use an intercooler.

pretty sure the standard vortech system doesn't include an intercooler so just pick one up and i imagine you would be fine.

but someone that knows more then me should chime in sometime that can give you a definite answer.

Re: Boost

Your piston ring lands are at risk of breaking even at only 6# of boost; been there, done that Bumping up the boost will greatly increase intake temperatures making you at higher risk for detonation. You'll either need an intercooler or an alky system. Start saving for your rebuild
