Blower Rpm

I was wondering where everyone spins their superchargers to. Do you spin to the Max Eff., Max Limit, Overspeed?

I am thinking about a change to a smaller supercharger pulley. I am in between the maximum efficiency and maximum limit right now.

Let me hear anything you got.

No input on the optimum rpm to run the blower, if you haven't bumped up to a larger crank pulley yet, I suggest to increase the crank pulley before going with a smaller blower pulley. The increased crank pulley change helps reduce belt slipage. I run the 7" crank pulley and stock 3.3" blower pulley and rev my engine to 6,200 rpm.

Thanks,

A blower pulley would be cheaper. Can you still get a 7" crank pulley other than a used one? Is a belt change typically nessesary when changing either a crank or blower pulley?

Also, is there a good place to buy pullies other than Vortech?

I would change the crank, not the blower. Belt change, yes, usually.

I've got an old A-trim and I'm trying to get the most out of it. A swap to a 2.75" pulley would yield me 45,163 RPM, which is about 0.4% over the absolute RPM limit.

I think this might be the right way to go.

I supposedly have a A-trim too, and I bought a 2.95" pulley and I thought that would max mine out. where did you get the calculation from? maybe I did it wrong, or got the wrong info. also what boost are you looking to get?

BMoney:
I just made a quick excel sheet using the formula given at the Vortech site. I can email it to you if you like. I am also assuming I have the 6" crank pulley.

I am not really looking for a particular boost pressure.

How did that 2.95" pulley work?
