Bad coil or gap too big?

I have been having this random problem that only occurred after the blower install. If I get on it, the car will completey shut off around 4500 rpms. Comes back after a second or so. Usually only in 3rd or 4th gear. Once in second and never in 1st. I did not regap the plugs but they were new.

Is it the coil going out? Or is it possible that somehow the coil just won't fire through the boost at those rpms? When I hear of the spark being blown out, I think the car runs really rough but what are the symptoms of a spark being blown out?

I do believe the reccomended gap for a turbo or blower motor is .035. If your still @.050 the spark might be getting blown out. What plugs are you running? You should also be running atleast one range colder than stock, most run the NGK TR6.

I agree with Mystic, The plugs should be gapped to no more then .035. The TR6's are a good blower plug. I have tried Autolite 104 and r43lts6 delcos and the car has run the best with the NGKs. How much boost are you seeing at that rpm?

I will regap them. They are the autolites btw.

I would guess around 5-6 lbs at that rpm as I see about 9 at 6000.
