Backfire at idle

SO i finished puttin the motor in, adjusted the valves etc with the blower off, everything sounded great. When i connected the blower the car pops every few seconds while ideling. I have not taken it for a drive yet, what can be causing the backfire with the blower conencted? Car is runnig pertty rich judging by the black smoke out the back.
Thanks

Re: Backfire at idle

Where is your bypass valve mounted in relation to your MAF? If your bypass is after the maf and not recirculated back in after the MAF the ecu will fuel for all the air you're not using.

An exhaust valve may be adjusted too tight.

Did you swap injectors and not reprogram the ecu for them yet?

Re: Backfire at idle

The MAF is on the pressure side. Like marcin said motor runs fine without the blower. But the minute you hook up the blower it starts popping every few seconds. he put on I believe 75 LB injectors? Low Imped with box. he is running a "SAFE" tune which I had on my car when I had a vortec. He is running the same setup as I was except the blower. He has a Procharger. Everything was bought from Jason short. I think it might be the coil or opti?

Where is the bypass valve???

The blower does nothing to the engine at idle assuming you have a bypass valve. Its not the ignition.

Re: Backfire at idle

Well everyone I was right. I went for a ride in the car lastnight and I was Impressed. I had basicly the same set up but I was using a vortec and his car is FAST. Turned out to be the coil. Switched coils and BAM she is off and running. this is a VERY VERY strong set up. Now marcin just get some new damn nittos and lets go to PC!
