It's over a 100 in Phoenix.

I've reset the fans to come on at 191 and hysterisis at 7 degrees. The car is having a real bad time trying to stay cool.

Should I surrender the temps and move my fans up to 200..205? They are on constantly around here.

Here's what I would do. Go down the highway and measure your ect. This will give you a good baseline as to where the fans should most definately be off. I would set the fan turn on temp at 10 degrees above that. The hysterisis value should be something in the range of 5-10.

Just my opinion, take it or leave it.

If your car is constantly running in that hot environment, and you are concerned about really keeping it cool, I would just get an aftermarket radiator. Mine on a really hot day only sees 190-195. But if it were to constantly be breaking the 200 point, I wouldn't think twice about just buying an aftermarket radiator.

That's essentially what I do anyway. The car is naturally happy with the 180* thermostat and it runs a couple degrees hotter (+/-).

So, I had the fans come on around 191 with Hyst at 7. That's fine for California. But Arizona is a different world and off the charts. Driving on the freeway (100* outside), and A/C off, the car's temps just keep climbing to about 210 (all the while the fans are spinning). So you're recommendation is to set the fans for 215-220 with hyst at about 10*?

sounds like its time to upgrade the radiator, 215 sounds pretty high for highway speeds. Mine sits around 190 highway and the fans kick on at 200.

I guess Arizona is a different beast down there, upgrading the radiator might not be a bad investement to keep the engine running for a long time.

eheh

put a 160 thermo in it...get a electric water pump and make sure your air damn is still there..my car at highway speed runs at 184 on a 95-100 degree summer day.

and i guess flushing the radiator wouldnt hurt either..
