ati or vortech

I'm having a 355 built now 9:1 compression basically stock cam and stock heads with 1 3/4 longtubes and a 6spd. I was wondering which was better as far as reliability and power. I drive this up to school where it gets driven 3 times a week but i want to make somewhere around 400rwhp. Any body recommend either one?

Man that question could stir up a debate. We have a business relationship with ATI and our tech spends a great deal of time working with them to optimize their product performance. I know that they are dedicated to producing reliable power, and they deliver on their claims. This I know for a fact. I do not have any information to share with you on Vortech and they have been in the business for quite a while. I do believe that ATI is very helpful in product selection and I have known many people that work(ed) there over the years. I would call both companies to get a feel for their offerings.

Anybody ever get efficiency maps for the ATI compressors?

I've got an ATI unit, its going on 5 years old now i think...Its been problem free, and leak free. I don't drive the car much but I have taken it on long trips, and have had stints of daily driver time. Never once has given me a problem.

EDIT: I take that back, I had to put an idler pully on it, however I think If I would have seen the problem earlier, it could have been easily avoided.
