ATI Mustang question

I have a friend that just put a ATI P1SC on his 96 stang. It's an 8lb kit and he's seeing 12 lbs to the gauge. What's up with that? His only mod is a small cam.

I was only seeing 6-7 lbs on mine.

Make sure the gauge is plumbed in correctly. Was it a used kit? Make sure he's actually got the 8# pullies on it. They could be higher boost pullies that were on a built motor (and only saw 8#).

It was a new kit. His boost gauge is an electronic one? Maybe they sent the wrong pulley.

Its not too uncommon for this too happen, especially with mustangs. I know alot of mustang owners who put on the 8psi pulley but usually see aound 11psi. My car used to do the same thing.

one other thought. the electronic gauges have to zero on startup. he has to hook it to a source that still has juice when the starter is cranking. if not, the gauge will zero when there is some vacuum present and throw off the readings.
