anyone running this turbo kit?

I've searched on line for a turbo kit for the lt1's...just wondering if anybody has used this kit to give any feedback on it

http://www.proturbokits.com/gmkits.htm

Does anybody know of any good turbo kits for the lt1's that are on the market right now?

as far as ive seen............that is the best turbo kit available for our cars.

there are two other turbo kits now available besides this one... turbolocity.biz and the STS kit (not sure of the website).
the turbolocity is a twin turbo kit, but its $6500.....pretty damn expensive.....and no one has dyno numbers yet.
the STS kit is cheaper......i think around $3500......but so far the results havent been proven.

one guy on this forum has the proturbokit on a totally stock motor.........at 11psi with the T66 turbo he dynoed 454rwhp and 567rwtq

but 11psi is a bit too high for the stock motor, so you would probably run it around 7psi for daily driving.......so probably right around 400rwhp on a bone stock car with safe psi.

i think this kit would really shine with some headwork and a turbo cam, but if you want more boost, you need forged internals.

Does anyone have any more pics of the pro turbo kits setup?

On their webiste they only give one pic and you cna't really see the headers, or the cross over pipe...any pics of the kit installed and how it looks...

Does anybody know any more specs on the kit...as far as what kind of header design they are using...size of primaries...how many mm wastegate comes with it...how much hp will the intercooler that it comes with support?..size of piping...etc

if you goto the main PTK page......scroll 3/4 the way down......there are 5 pics of the LT1 kit fully assembled but not on the car......and if you goto the projects page........at the bottom there are 2 pics of the prototype installed, but you cant really see much.

i header design is individual tube 1 5/8 primaries, but i believe you can also get 1 3/4.
they have 38mm, 40mm, and 46mm wastegates for sale on their page....im not sure which comes with the kit but im pretty sure its the 38mm, thats what comes with the mustang kits.
the air-to-water intercooler that comes with it is probably good up to 800-900hp...........but from what i heard, you can also have them make you a kit with an air-to-air.

for more specifics, you would have to email them .

Whatever happened to that other guy who was going to make a kit real cheap, he said they would cost as much as a supercharger if everything went well. His name is Bryan Smith, not sure if this is the STS kit. I haven't seen or heard anything lately

I found this on turbolocity's site

but there is nothing wrong with piecing together your own, there is no reason that you have to get a "kit"

Yeah, that was Turbospeed from Oklahoma. Haven't herd anything from him lately, but he was making some rather large Hp claims on a bone stock motor. Guess his kit was a little harder to produce than he anticipated, It was supposed to be available months ago.

do you know that is the LT1 kit, because it could be a mustang kit

btw......the "kit" price for turbolocity is $5400.......which only includes the headers, intake piping, turbos, and intercooler.

That graph is sitting on the LT1 turbo kit purchase page. They have several kits and I think its fairly priced. They have a kit for 6500 or 6900 that comes with everything including upgraded turbo's all fuel upgrades and a K-member capable of 900 HP on a built motor. Its certainly not cheap to produce a kit like that and it should not be snuffed, the price of the turbo's alone will be a large expense and they are included. I would certainly buy thier kit if I had the money and the supporting suspension mods and a 12 bolt.

you say only, but that includes EVERYTHING needed to put it on your car accept fuel and tuning. I dont think its a bad price.

it doesnt include the k-member

i think $6500 is a moderate price for the full kit

but $5400 for the tuner kit is a bit too much considering what you get.

i hope that isnt the real dyno results......420rwhp for $6500 isnt quite a deal.

brad said they hadnt done dyno results for the LT1 yet, so im pretty sure that graph is just there for illustrative purposes.

Hey Everybody. My car is the donor car with Turbolocity's kit on it. No that is not the Dyno numbers on the car. The car is waiting to get some minor things fixed before it goes on the dyno.

The Kit is very nice and looks awsome on the car. I have only driven it twice since it was completed and I must say WOW there is alot of low end torque and gobs of HP.

The Kit for 6500 does come with everything including the
k-member from what I have been told. It is worth the money because you get alot for what you are paying for and if you want big HP #'s this kit is what you want being capable of producing 900 with the 2 Turbos. Atleast that is what I have been told.

As soon as the dyno numbers are done I will post them for everyone.

I just talked to Brad Edington who is the owner of turbolocity. He says that they will ship your car to thier facility from anywhere in the country and they will also install it for you for about 1000. Also there is a big discount for the first 3 sold, but they have to be installed on site.

Also, just out of curiosity, what kind of boost are you running on a stock bottom end?
