Anyone running an F2 in anything?
Anyone running an F2 in anything?
I am planning on using an F2 for my '69 RS/SS 502 project, but the only person that I've spoken to with an F2 says his is ungodly loud, even to the point he sent it back to Procharger for inspection, but they said it was ok.
I've only had S-trims before, and I expect this would be louder, but would like to chat with anyone that has an F2 to get an idea of how MUCH louder.
I think the phrase "world coming to an end" was in his description of the sound :-)

Have worked with a number of -2 and -3's. Don't really think they are that bad? A little bothersome for a daily driver...nothing that would make me think they were going to blow up or anything though.

I've never heard an F1 either... any idea how it compares to, say, an S-Trim? If its "twice as loud" as an S-trim, I can live with that.
Dennis (or anyone), have you seen an F series in a '69 Camaro? I'm wondering about inner fenderwell clearance with their brackets.

Re: Anyone running an F2 in anything?
Think pissed off veloci raptor, that's an F2.
The SB bracket for the F2 offers 2 mounting locations. One location moves the blower closer to the cylinder head and a touch higher up. This requires shaft mount rockers or at least short sheet metal valve covers for volute clearance and to be able to remove the cover without removing the blower.
In this position with the tall motor mounts the volute will just clear the inner fenderwell.
The second position moves the blower away from the cylinder head and down towards the inner fender. In this position standard valve covers will clear but the inner fender will need to be modified for clearance.
I can get you some pictures in the near future if this is just a project in the planning stages. Won't be for a couple weeks though.
EDIT: Whoops its a 502 project, sorry. Obviously my info doesn't help. Tall valve covers in the close position will need to be notched for volute clearance.

Re: Anyone running an F2 in anything?
Thanks. This is a big block, as you note. I'm running short valve covers but with a 1" spacer underneath. They are tapered at the ends, so there's a chance if the big block mounts offer an inboard position, it still might clear.
